Description
Organic Dulse (Palmaria Palmata) is a red algae that is used in cooking both for its health properties and because of its taste. Dulse can be added to salads, soups, oven dishes and many other foods to give an interesting salty taste.
Dulse is full of valuable minerals, especially iron and potassium. Dulse also helps to supply the body with Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids, which help regulate many functions of your body, such as blood clotting and blood pressure, and help the brain and nervous system to develop and function properly. They also play an important role in regulating inflammation. Eating dulse is a great way for vegans or people who don’t eat animal foods to get enough vitamin B-12. A study led by Daniel Phaneuf and published in “Environmental Research” in February 1999 noted that algae is a good source of minerals and vitamins, especially B-12. Dulse also contains many proteins and provides all the essential amino acids. These amino acids work with calcium, magnesium and vitamins D and K to create strong and healthy bones.
